How to write a SUPERB Press Release?

press release guidelines

We know that Press Releases are made to fetch a higher rank in search results, but a number of precautions should be taken while doing the same, so as to avoid problems for your website.

Press Release GuidelinesLow Keyword Stuffing

Keyword stuffing is using keywords repeatedly which results in a negative reader experience. Too much keyword stuffing can make your Press Release look too irritating and irrelevant.
Example: If I’m writing a Press Release for my website which is about ‘Cars’, a PR should not definitely look like:
“Our website is all about cars. We offer the most innovative car desings on the internet. Our cars our the best cars available online.”
In the above example the word ‘Cars’ is used 4 times in two lines. This is an expale of HIGH keyword stuffing.
Keyword stuffing should be around 2-3 keywords per 100 words. This is one of the most important press release guidelines to keep in mind.
One should choose 2-3 keywords and write the press release in accordance with them. If I choose to write a press release about online marketing, I would focus on keywords like SEO, AFFILIATE MARKETING and SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING.

Press Release GuidelinesKeywords should have a close proximity

Use closely related search terms in the headings and sub headings. Use of long anchor text links should be fostered. This is one of the most important press release guidelines to keep in mind. Stick to the theme of the Press Release. Writers often go off track while writing press releases. Be very specific and keep in mind your target audience while formulating a PR.

Press Release GuidelinesWrite Press Releases for Humans, with Search Engine considerations a secondary Concern. Humans love Human content ;)

A press release should always be written in such a way that they are reader friendly. If the readers like it, they would share it among their peers and fetch you more traffic/views, which would automatically force the search engine to rank you higher in search results. This is one of the most important press release guidelines to keep in mind.
Don’t just work for yourself. Work for your readers. People often say that: ‘Customers are Gods’ | In our case, ‘Our Readers our gods’ and we need to please them through our writings. So, make your PR as informational as possible. A better writing would help you fetch more traffic, user’s satisfaction and money would flow in automatically.

Press Release GuidelinesYour content should not be only about YOUR WEBSITE. ME ME ME? NO!

If you keep marketing yourselves by telling about your product, concept or website, it would make you look like a ‘Marketing Bot’. If you want people to genuinely follow you or use your product, help them by telling them something that might help them. Something that they may find interesting. This is one of the most important press release guidelines to keep in mind.
I’ve often seen authors who push their brand names everywhere. No one would be interested in reading about your organization or website, until they find something informational out of it. So, write a PR so that people welcome you for your fresh content or concept.

Press Release GuidelinesAdd links to your Press Release.
Now this point is too obvious. Your intention behind writing a PR is to fetch more traffic on your website. If you would include ‘Relevant Links’ in your PR it would enable the readers to know about about your content or specific products in more detail. You can even expect the readers to link their websites to yours. This is one of the most important press release guidelines to keep in mind.

Press Release GuidelinesAdd links, but with CONTROLLED EMOTIONS
Too much linking might mark your PR as SPAM. A good inclusion would be ONE LINK PER 100 words. This is one of the most important press release guidelines to keep in mind. Over linking would make you look desperate for traffic.

Succeeding online takes time. It requires a lot of patience and determination. Blog for passion. Blog for helping your readers. Work hard for getting them something good and informative.
